About Us
The Quinta do Laranjo is a tribute to the horse “Laranjo”, who for many years was the driving force behind the agricultural work on the property. More than just a draft animal, Laranjo was a central figure in farm life: he performed the most demanding tasks and, due to his robustness and reliability, was frequently requested by the neighbors, becoming a true “community agricultural machine”. This legacy reflects the spirit of Quinta do Laranjo: respect for roots, valuing people, and preserving the traditions of the Douro region.
Located in the wine-producing village of Adorigo, in the municipality of Tabuaço — part of the Alto Douro Wine Region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001 — the Quinta is situated in the heart of the oldest demarcated wine region in the world. Here, tradition, authenticity, and local identity come together to create experiences that honor the history of the Douro and its unique cultural landscape.
Quinta do Laranjo distinguishes itself through the wine and cultural experiences it offers, as well as the exceptional landscape provided by the Adorigo viewpoint, where the Douro River, the vineyards, and the silence meet in perfect harmony.
